Nigerian singer Azeez Fashola popularly known as Naira Marley and his colleague Samson Erinfolami Balogun popularly known as Sam Larry has filed a N40M lawsuit against the Lagos Police Force and the Lagos magistrate.

The accused filed a lawsuit against the police and the Lagos magistrate Adeola Olatubosun due to their detention at the police custody since 4th October 2023 over the death of the late singer Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba popularly known as Mohbad.
Though their lawyer Mr Olalekan Ojo, Naira Marley and Sam Larry are both demanding a sum of N20M each for damages and breach of fundamental human rights from the authorities. They also demanded that they be released from police custody with immediate effect.
Naira Marley and Sam Larry were arrested on October 4th as prime suspects to the case of the late singer Mohbad.
Both individuals were detained in Lagos State Police Command, Panti for a period of 21 days which was expected to lapse on 26th October. As of 31st October 2023, the defendants are still in detention and yet to be released.
