Inter Milan president Steven Zhang has put the minds of Nerazzurri supporters at rest, after sharing that manager Simone Inzaghi will remain at the club beyond the 2023/24 season.

Inzaghi, whose current deal with the Serie A league leaders expires on June 30, 2025, has been linked with the managerial role at Liverpool, with Jurgen Klopp set to exit the club at the end of the season.

Simone Inzaghi has been sublime at Inter Milan, helping the club win 2 Coppa Italia titles and 2 Supercoppa Italiana.

The Italian tactician is also on the verge of leading the Nerazzurri to the Serie A title this term, as they lead the league table with 83 points from 32 matches.

They are 14 points better than arch-rivals AC Milan, who sit 2nd on the log with 69 points from 32 league matches.

Inzaghi also led Inter Milan to the final of the UEFA Champions League last season, before losing 1-0 to Manchester City, courtesy of an electric strike by Rodri.

Simone Inzaghi looks to have steadied the ship at the club, with the team aspiring for lengthy successes in the coming years.

Speaking concerning the future of Inzaghi, 31-year-old president Zhang in an interview with Sky Sports spoke highly of the former Lazio boss.

He said: “There’s no doubt at all, we will continue together.

“He’s an excellent coach. Inzaghi will stay as a key part of our project.”

Simone Inzaghi was appointed manager of Inter Milan on June 3, 2021, and he has taken charge of 152 matches, winning 101 games, drawing 26, and losing 25.

The Nerazzurri play a swashbuckling brand of football, fluid in attack and compact in defense.

Stars like Hakan Calhanoglu, Lautaro Martinez, Alexis Sanchez, and Yann Sommer amongst others have been crucial for the side this campaign.

Anyway, Inter Milan return to action on Monday, April 21, 2024, facing rivals AC Milan in a Matchday 33 La Liga action.

The Nerazzurri smashed Stefano Pioli's side in the reverse fixture, and they will also be looking to continue their imperious league run against AC Milan.

Inter Milan are on a 26-game unbeaten league run, having last suffered a defeat on September 27, 2023, losing 2-1 to Sassuolo at the Giuseppe Meazza stadium.

They will not be defending their Coppa Italia title which they won last season after they lost in the Round of 16 to Bologna 2-1.

However, winning the league will give them pleasure and joy, having last won the title in the 2020/21 season.

Inter Milan supporters will also be excited to see Inzaghi remain at the helm, following his impressive work since he joined the club.

Liverpool will now have to look elsewhere in search of a replacement for Jurgen Klopp, who as aforementioned will be departing the club at the end of the season.
