Putting all your eggs in one basket is risky. Diversifying across stocks, bonds, REITs, and money market funds reduces the chance that one bad event wipes out your savings.
For example, equities are great for growth, but money market funds keep your cash safe and liquid. REITs give you passive income, and holding companies in different sectors protects you from a single market shock.
The key is balance. Diversification isn’t about avoiding risk completely, it’s about managing it smartly while letting your money grow steadily.
Happy sunday my esteem investors

Happy Sunday, @Vicole! I love this. I see diversification like a balanced immune system. ️ If you only have one type of 'antibody' (one stock), a single 'virus' (a sector crash or policy shift) can take you down. But when you diversify, you’re building a multi-layered defense. With inflation at 15.1%, my 'immune system' right now is a mix of Money Markets (yielding 22%) for defense, and Industrial giants like BUA/Dangote for offensive growth. It’s not just about having many stocks; it’s about having assets that don't all 'get sick' at the same time. How many 'layers' does your portfolio have this weekend?

True. Diversification isn’t just about numbers, it’s about building resilience. Some assets defend, some grow, and together they keep your portfolio healthy even when one sector catches a cold. Love the ‘immune system’ analogy—it really hits.

Diversification is key, what will be your advice to a beginner? Is it to diversify or focus on one?

Like I always say, diversify by failure mode, not asset class.

For beginners, diversification is safer. Spread your money across a few quality assets to reduce risk, then expand as you gain more experience.
Yes... but with this t=strategy you wont grow you wealth fast, diversify but at least two to 5 good stocks is okay.

True, sticking to just one stock slows growth. Diversifying across 2–5 solid stocks is a smart way to balance risk while still building wealth steadily.
